Overview

We designed and built a unified customer portal that replaced call-centre dependency with self-service order tracking, live delivery maps with truck location, proof of delivery, document access, and online glass ordering — all surfacing data from Viridian's existing legacy systems we are maintaining.

The Challenge

Viridian Glass customers had no self-service visibility into their orders, deliveries, or delivery notes and invoice documentation. Every enquiry required a call or email to the call centre, creating friction for customers and load on internal staff. The challenge was to surface real-time order and delivery data from multiple ageing C#/.NET internal systems into a single, modern web experience — without replacing those underlying systems.

What We Did

  • 1

Mapped data flows across all legacy C#/.NET internal systems to design a unified Web API layer providing a single source of truth for the client portal.

  • 2

Built a React frontend with real-time order status progress through the production process. Added delivery tracking, including live truck location displayed on an interactive map for orders out for delivery on the day.

  • 3

Integrated access to proof of delivery, delivery notes, and invoice into a single customer dashboard.

  • 4

Added a full online glass ordering workflow, from product selection, delivery address, customer P.O. entry through to order submission and confirmation.

  • 5

Delivered a fully responsive design to ensure a consistent experience from desktop browsers to tablets on the factory floor.

A very professional and thorough service. The Softlogic team were able to take over the software that runs the business after we were separated from our parent company and lost access to the developers. We were faced with hiring a development team but realised we didn't want to get into software development — after all, we make glass. We've been giving the support team bugs and enhancements, and are now starting to replace portions of the system. The business analysts at SoftLogic helped define our new system concept. I would highly recommend SoftLogic to rescue your critical software.

Before you rewrite, make the right call.

Most organisations rewrite software they should rescue — wasting years and millions discovering complexity already embedded in the system they abandoned. This free methodology gives you a structured framework to make the rescue-or-replace decision with confidence, before committing to either path.

  • The 5-dimension framework for evaluating rescue viability vs. full redevelopment
  • The 3-phase rescue process — Resuscitation, Rejuvenation, and Renovation — explained in full
  • The 7-step triage methodology for taking ownership of an unknown or orphaned codebase
  • How to reduce redevelopment risk with incremental modernisation
  • The financial case: why rescue-first consistently delivers better ROI than a big-bang rewrite
